The 2011 Best in the Desert Transwest Ford Henderson 250 race was not only the last race of the season but was also a double point’s event.
BITD’s Vegas to Reno is one of the most challenging races of the season. It’s the longest off-road race in the U.S. during the heat of the summer. It tests both man and machine to extreme limits. This year’s race was 550 miles through the toughest desert terrain starting in Beatty, Nevada just outside of Las Vegas and finishing in Dayton, Nevada near Reno.

Camburg Racing teamed up with long time and championship winning driver Jerry Whelchel to take the reins of the KINETIK Trick Truck at the SNORE / General Tires Mint 400 Race.

Coming into the last race of the season in Henderson Nevada, Camburg was focused on finishing well. Ultimately the engine issues they’ve been plagued with all year and a minor prep related issue kept them from attaining their goal of finishing Top 5 in points for the season.
Richard’s Ford Ranger runs our un-equal length Camburg custom 4.5” I-beams up front, once again proving our off the shelf components being used off-road in the most extreme racing conditions by some of the fastest racers in their respective classes.
Camburg Engineering congratulates Chris Freas #1479 on his 3rd place overall finish at SNORE’s Rage at the River in the 1450 class. The race format was over 2 days and Chris was only 34 seconds behind the 2nd place finisher.

Huntington Beach, CA – The 2010 Best in the Desert TSCO Vegas to Reno Off-Road Race starts outside of Las Vegas in the small town of Beatty and finishes just outside of Reno in Dayton. This race was 534 miles and is known as the “the longest off-road race in the United States”. The wide spectrum of terrain ranging from rocks, silt, gravel roads, sand washes and huge cliffs is challenging to say the least along with the 100 plus degree weather.
In the end, Randy Merritt and Mongo Racing finished 2nd place in class 8100 at approximately 1:15 am on Saturday morning.
Robby Woolworth and Kevin McKeown took 2nd place in the 1450 class at the SNORE KC Hilites midnight special, running CAMBURG custom f-150 I-beams and radius arms.

Baja has some of the most extreme terrain that most have never been able to conquer… hence the reasoning to bring out the new truck for its first race and debut it to the world.
The truck is going to be used to travel to remote parts of the mountains in Russia. The area is about 500km and ranges in elevation up 12,000ft. Primary duty of this truck is to protect the Wolves from the hunters!
